A WHOLE NEW WORLD

From diverse landscapes and desert adventures to vibrant souks, hammams, and minarets, Morocco blends Islamic imperial grandeur with old-European elegance. Mystical, colorful, and otherworldly, it’s a country where past and present live together in dizzying harmony. During this week-long journey through the desert, you’ll discover all the things that make Morocco both enchantingly exotic and warmly familiar.

DAY 1 HIGHLIGHT

Arrive in Fez

Travel to Fez via plane, bus, and ferry. When you arrive, you’ll have a chance to eat, rest, and stay overnight at the beautiful Menzeh Zalagh hotel.

DAY 2 HIGHLIGHT

Moroccan nights

After breakfast at the hotel, spend the day exploring the Medina of Fez, one of the largest and best-preserved medieval cities in the world turned UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll among the bustling bazaars (watch out for donkeys!) and drop in on the workshops of world-famous leather tanners. In the evening, you’ll have the option to see a traditional folklore show that includes belly dancing, folk music, and acrobatics.

DAY 3 HIGHLIGHT

Find your oasis

Today you’ll travel by bus to Erfoud, a mountain town in the Sahara Desert, to enjoy lunch in the palm-lined oasis of Tafilalt. An all-terrain Jeep will carry you across huge sand dunes to arrive in Merzouga at nightfall. You’ll be staying in genuine haimas (tents) tonight beneath millions of bright desert stars.

DAY 4 HIGHLIGHT

A Saharan sunrise

Who hasn’t dreamed of seeing the sun rise over the Sahara? An early morning at camp allows you to watch the desert transform into a postcard-worthy landscape of reds and oranges. Later that day, check off another bucket list item with a camel ride through the sweeping desert of Merzouga. The rest of the evening is free to enjoy the incredible sights and spend another festive evening under the stars.

DAY 5 & 6 HIGHLIGHT

Homeward bound

Enjoy breakfast at the camp before traveling back through Erfoud by bus. Meknes is your final stop for a free afternoon and relaxing night at Hôtel Rif.
